About Otto Arend
Otto was born on 25 Mar., 1892,in Petrovice, Czech Republic, the son of Adolf Abeles and Regina Freschl Abeles. He married Maria (Manja) Markus and they had one daughter. Otto was transported from Prague on 26 Oct. 1941. According to grandson Bruce Nicmans, "[Otto] died from gangrene caused by frostbitten toes. My mother (Sonia) was too anaemic to give him a blood transfusion and she was with him when he died. He is buried in the Lodz Ghetto Cemetery, "sha (?)" 9."
