Otto Heinrich RöTTCHER SV/Prog (7 Nov 1834 – 27 Dec 1911) was an immigrant from Walsrode Deutschland. He was pastor at missionaries in the Natal Midlands. Round about 1915-1917 in the town Müden, Natal, South Africa he was force to make “wine” out of oranges, as there were no wine and no grapes to make wine. This was used as part of the Holy Communion
His son, Heinrich Christoph RöTTCHER b10 (10 Sep 1879 – 17 Oct 1958) continue his father processes of making the “wine”
Heinrich’s son, Karl Kurt RöTTCHER b10c3 ( born 25 Aug 1910) continued making “wine “and opened a formal business “Röttcher Wineries” between Nelspruit and White River in the Lowveld, Eastern Transvaal, South Africa, in the middle of the year 1959. Therefore keeping the legacy of his grandfather Otto intact.
