Comment: The only sister-in-law was Marta, née Friedová. Božena lost her life as an individual prisoner in the Auschwitz concentration camp on Dec. 12, 1942. At that time, the entire family, with the exception of Gertruda (and Hanuš in emigration), was already deported. So if Božena's ashes are indeed buried in the family grave, then Gertruda must have paid the Nazi authorities to send her the urn from Auschwitz. This was still possible in the early war years with individual prisoners. But it is much more likely that Božena's name was written on the grave only symbolically (Hanuš Grab 11/4/2020).
