Percy Taylor Hodges Jr. NORFOLK - Percy Taylor Hodges Jr., 78, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at his residence in the 100 block of W. Leicester Ave. He was born in Little Washington, N.C., and was the son of the late Percy and Selma Hodges. He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred Ray Hodges and his brother, Jimmy Gray Hodges in North Carolina. A longtime resident of Norfolk, he retired from the Norfolk Naval Supply Center in 1980 after 30 years of service. He also held a captain's license and spent most of his remaining years on his boat, the Brothers, which he owned with his brothers, Piggy and Jimmy Gray. He is survived by his children, William H. and Pat Hodges, Sharon and Ron Hurwitz, and Paul and Barbara Hodges, all of Norfolk, and Christine DeMao of Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren, Sandy and John Hodges, Allena Hurwitz, all of Norfolk, Chelsea and Tyler Humphrey of Hampton, Jake Hodges of North Carolina, Hunter Hodges of Oklahoma, Christine T. DeMao of Pennsylvania, and Bernadette DeMao of California; and two great-grandchildren, Summer and Kasen Humphrey of Hampton. He will also be remembered by his brothers, Lester "Piggy" Hodges of Norfolk and Eddie Harrell Hodges of Chesapeake, and his sister, Alice Morris of North Carolina. A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
