Don Archibald Dead in France. Don Lyman Archibald, of Kane, Pa., formerly of Portville, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Archibald, is officially reported dead by the war department, according to word received by his wife at Kane. The cause and date of his death were not given. He was reported missing November 6, five days before the armistice was signed. He was last heard from October 16. He was a brother of Lee Archibald of Olean. He lived in Kane five years and was employed by a window glass company. He was 24 years old. (bio by: Richard H. Goms Jr.)
