Pamela (60), and Thomas Rubbin Leach (74), were found murdered in their home at Suideroord south of Johannesburg on Thursday 14th September 2006, at around 13h15, said Captain Schalk Bornman of the Gauteng police. Thomas was found in the garage with stab wounds to his neck. Pamela was found in the bedroom with her hands tied behind her back and gagged, cuts to her throat, and sustained a fatal gunshot wound to her head.

- According to insp. Sanku Tsunke of the police Lekaka about a year after the incident a suspect was arrested in Turffontein in the south of Johannesburg. He still had the couple's car in his possession.

- The Johannesburg High Court sentenced Daniel Lekaka (32) to two life sentences for the murders and ten years in prison for armed robbery sentenced The sentences will be served concurrently. Lekaka's trial began on 26th November and he was sentenced on 6th December.
