"Parley Peter Kunz passed away October 17, 1983, in Montpelier, Idaho following a stroke. Born October 28, 1894, in Bern, Idaho to John Kunz III and Elizabeth Boss. Married Hilda Irene Stoor, May 23, 1919, in the Salt Lake Temple. He served as Bishop of the Bern Ward for ten years and filled a mission with his wife to the Alabama Mission in 1972. He also served as a trustee for school district 13 for a number of years. He was a rancher and farmer. He and his brother Able contracted hay in the Cokeville, Wyoming area for 30 years. Survivors: his wife, Hilda, Bern, Idaho; children, Mrs. R.I. (Fern) Falloway, Bern; Mrs. Jay (LaRue) Spencer, Ogden, Utah; Mrs. Glen (Geniel) Smith, Bennington, Idaho; Mrs. Donovan (Carol) Howell, Fish Haven, Idaho; Mrs. Lavan (Naomi) Hunsaker, Salmon, Idaho; Paul R. Kunz, Bern; Owen L. Kunz, Montpelier, Idaho; Dr. Phillip R. Kunz, Provo; Mrs. Leonard (Eva) Johnson, Lewiston, Idaho; Richard R. Kunz, Oxford, England; Arthurs S. Kunz, Pocatello, Idaho; he had 65 grandchildren; and 113 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Paul (Lula) Nielson, Ogden; brother, Able C. Kunz, Rexburg, Idaho. Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 20, 1983, 1:00 p.m. in the Bern Ward chapel. Friends may call Wednesday, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Matthews Mortuary in Montpelier and one hour prior to the services in the Bern Ward Chapel. Interment, Bern Cemetery." SLTribune 10/19.
