Daughter of Isaac and Margaret Washburn Nichols, she was first married to Lt John B Hubbell who died of smallpox in Albany, NY. See #133958582 which states:
"John Hubbell married Patience Nichols, with whom he had three children: Margery (1681-); Richard (1684/5-1758) and Josiah (1688-1752).
The widow Patience Hubbell married secondly, Samuel Hawley.
See: Hubbell, Walter. History of the Hubbell Family. 1915. p 19; Hubbell, Harold Berresford. History and Genealogy of the Hubbell Family. 1980. p 49-50."
Another source gives her death date as 9/29/1753 in Stratford, CT - more research is needed. Her death place has not been verified. Her burial place should be with her husband - if not confirmed her place of burial will be listed as unknown.
This from Judy Smith: I just read and transcribed the will of her husband dated April 15, 1734, where he names her as his executrix. Will was probated on Sept 24, 1734 and reads "at a Court of Probate held in Fairfield September ye 24th 1734 then personally appeared Patience Hawley ye within [Executrix] & accepted sd trust committed to her by ye Testator." So she could not have died on April 17, 1734 as she was still living in September 24, 1734. Thanks for correcting! Will can be found on Ancestry.com at the CT Wills & Probate Records database.
