Patrick MacArthur the servitor of Prior Alexander Campbell of Ardchattan signed on for service in the Royal Scots Brigade ("Hepburn's Brigade") raised by Charles I Stuart to serve Louis XIII and Richelieu in the Thirty Years War. In 1632 Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland
