Julia Pauahi Pinao

Pauahi was known as a strikingly beautiful woman who inherited her family's talent for music and was trained as a hula dancer. Early in life, she was presented at the court of Kalakaua and established her fame as one of the great dancers of the period.

She was one of the first troupe of Hawaiian dancers who toured the United States.

She traveled the world with the King during his world tour and demonstrated before the worlds Kings and Queens the wonderful art of Hula.

Pauahi had an illegitimate child with King Kalakaua, named Kamakau.
