Paul L. Swaim, 97 of Martinsburg, died at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan 24,2002, at Mexico Manor.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan 28, at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico with the Rev. Mary Scheffler officiating. Burial will be in Swaim Trust Cemetery. Visitation is from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
Mr. Swaim was born Nov. 27, 1904, in Eldora, Iowa, to William and Bertha Jane Rash Swaim. He married Lola Metts on April 1, 1925 in Iowa.
He worked at A. P. Green Refractories for 10 years, beginning in 1941, and had farmed at rural Marinsburg. He was a member of Martinsburg Community, Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Swaim of Mexico; four sons and their wives, Willard and Donna Swaim, Walter and Bernice Swaim, Leo and Marie Swaim, all of Martinsburg and Charlie and Diane Swaim of Independence; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Reva Benedict and her husband, Keith, of Creston, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren; two brothers; and four sisters
