Pedro Trono

Rep. Pedro G. Trono, M.D., was born in Guimbal, Iloilo in 1908. In 1939, he graduated Medicine at the University of Santo Tomas. In 1950, he was elected Board Member of the province of Iloilo. Then in 1953, he was elected a representative to Congress for the 1st district of the province. He went on to serve his constituents for the next 18 years. In 1960, he sponsored a bill to create the Guimbal General Hospital, Guimbal being the center of the district. In 1962, Sen. Gil Puyat inaugurated the hospital whose name was changed in memory of Rep. Trono upon his demise in 1979.
