Killed by Indians in 1676, He was actually killed in Chicopee, Massachusetts on the west side of the river

The son of Miles and Prudence Gilbert Morgan was working on a roof with his brother-in-law Edmund Pringryday[s] and another man in October 1675 when they were attached by native Americans stirred up during King Phillips War. The three men on the roof were killed and many of the homes and structures on both sides of the river were burned. Those that survived were hold up in a few structures like the compound surrounding father Miles Morgan's home. While under siege a native loyal to his father Miles Morgan managed to escape to Deerfield to alert a militia force stationed there. They traversed the distance back to Springfield to relieve the besieged survivors. This was the beginning of uneasy times for all until the rebellion was extinguished. It is likely some of the natives were friends of Miles Morgan or known to him as he traded with many along the river. Often natives were not treated fairly in other settlements such as those along the river in Connecticut Colony. William Pynchon leader and founder of Springfield preferred to treat the natives fairly. This caused him to break from the Connecticut Colony to which they were originally allied.

Gravesite Details Unknown burial location but likely in the old burial grounds of Springfield as was his mother who died after him.
