Pesah Rivka Adirim

Pesah Rivka was the daughter of Mordechai Adirim & his first wife, Hannah Cheyne Epstein. Hannah died at age 19 (she married at age 12), and left her husband with two little girls, Pesah Rivka, and Etta Kaila. Pesah was taken in by her uncle Rabbi Abraham Shopse Epstein, her late mother's brother. Her father remarried (to Riva), and had several more children, Sarah, Dina, Michla, Abraham Aaron, and twins, Aba David and Maisha. Pesah Rivka was born in Shupshik, and met and married her husband Maisha Charmetz there. Maisha worked for a landowner, buying and selling various products for him.Later he worked as a shamos in a synagogue. They raised their family in that small village. Her husband was from Darbeik. Pesah Rivka's children were Abraham Shopse, my grandmother Chai Toipke (Ida,), her twin Becky, Lou (Leib), and Anna (Hannah). Both Pesah Rivka and her husband Maisha died in 1910, leaving my grandmother and her siblings orphans at a young age. My grandmother Ida went to live in Poshville, near Shevle with her cousin Yossi Zilber, before she immigrated to America in 1913.
