MARTIN, PETER G., the sixth son of David and Maria (Guth) Martin, was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, January 9th, 1816, and came to Canada with his parents when four years of age. On November 15th, 1842, he was married to Maria, daughter of Henry and Maria (Mosser) Baumann. She was born October 13th, 1822 and died May 25th, 1889. On March 2nd, 1844, they moved on their farm, then all bush, being composed of the north part of lot No. 37, German Company's Tract, Woolwich Township, within one-half mile of St. Jacobs. He cleared nearly the whole of it, and now is the possessor of one of the finest farms in Woolwich Township. He has disposed of 13 acres of his farm to various parties, leaving him 134 acres. On this farm he still resides and enjoys good health and has an excellent memory of. a man of his age.
