About Peter Opley [Convict "Alexander" 1788]
Peter OPLEY (aka HOPLEY) was born c 1767
Peter was convicted of stealing clothes and was sentenced to 7 years transportation. He arrived in Sydney Cove on 26/1/1788 on "Alexander", one of the few Jewish Convicts in the first fleet.
Peter was sent to Norfolk Island in March 1790 on "Sirius"
Peter left Australia for Europe on "Marquis Cornwallis" in June 1796 and it is unknown what happened to Peter after this date.
