About Peter Reasor
The Reasors were of said to be of German origin, or Swiss origin in one account. Ulrich an d Jacob Risser came from Rotterdam in the ship "Adventurer", John Davis, master, qualified O ct. 2, 1727. John Risser came at the age of twenty-three, in the ship "Queen Elizabeth," Al exander Hope, master, from Rotterdam, qualified Sept. 16, 1738. Philip Risser came in the "L oyal Judith," Edward Painter, commander, from Rotterdam. Michael Reasor arrived about Sept ember 1732 on board the ship "Dragon" commanded by Charles Hargrave. Peter Reasor (Rissor) ( Russer) came to America aboard the ship "Robert and Alice" with his wife Anna Snyder, landin g in Philadelphia on September 3, 1739. Reasor, John - Montgomery County served in the Revolutionary War. Reasor, Peter - Washingto n County served in the Revolutionary War.
One of these immigrants was almost certainly the father or possibly grandfather of the Pete r Reasor who died 3 Feb 1797, but this writer has no proof positive as to which one. It als o is possible that this Peter Reasor who died 3 Feb 1797 was the same Peter Reasor that arriv ed in Philadelphia on September 3, 1739 if he lived a long life.* Reference: RootsWeb's WorldConnect - SmartCopy: Sep 7 2016, 6:34:54 UTC
