About Peter Worzala

891 Franklin

Peter Worzala was born in West Prussia, in the town of Lubnia. He emigrated to Renfrew, Ontario, Canada, where he married in 1863. Subsequently, he and his wife moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They purchased land and built a home, becoming some of the earliest settlers on the Polish East side.

Peter was a laborer, and was involved in the building of St Hedwig's Catholic Church, at the corner of Brady and Racine (what is now Brady St and Humboldt Ave). He died in a fall during the construction. /
