Piet (64) was murdered on his farm in Lindley, Free State on the 10th February 1997. He was killed after returning from a school function with his family. While he parked the car his wife and daughter walked in on waiting assailants. They were all tied up. When Mr van Eeden entered the house he was stabbed in the neck.
