Phoebe (Paine) Page migrated to New England during the Puritan Great Migration (1620-1640).

Phoebe Payne was christened Apr 1 1594 in Lavenham, Suffolk, England. Her father was William Payne. [1]

Phoebe's brother was William Paine and her sister was Elizabeth, the wife of William Hammond of Watertown. [2]

Phoebe married John Page in England.

John, son of Richard Page, and Phoebe Page lived in London and moved to Dedham, Essex County (UK). They emigrated to the US with 3 children, William, Phebe and Daniel in the ship "Jewell" in the fleet lead by John Winthrop. They left the port of Yarmouth, England on April 8, 1630 and landed in Salem, Massachusetts. Shortly afterwards, they moved to Charlestown and then to the peninsula now occupied by the City of Boston. The company of about 100 persons (including John and Phebe Page) purchased the entire peninsula from William Blackstone for $150. They became the first real settlers of the City of Boston. The colonists were unhappy with the soil for farming purposes and many moved to Watertown including the Page family. [3]
