Phoebe was born in 1627[1] in Lavenham, Suffolk, England. Her parents are John Page[1]and Phoebe Payne (Paine) [2][3][4]

Phoebe emigrated with her parents John Page and wife Phoebe from Dedham, England in 1630 to Watertown, Middlesex, Massachusetts[3]. In a letter dated November 1630, John Page stated he had two children in New England.[4]

Phoebe married James Cutler as his 3rd wife by 1662[4]in Cambridge, Middlesex, Massachusetts[2][3]. In reviewing the will of James Cutler, it seems that Phebe had a daughter by the same name prior to the Cutler marriage. Anderson in "The Great Migration" says, "The earlier history of Phebe Page is controversial, including allegations in court that she had been whipped at Long Island for fornication and that many believed she was pregnant in Watertown after staying out nights with John Poole." [1][4]

Daughter of Phebe Page prior to her marriage to James Cutler:

Phebe who was named in the will of James Cutler in 1684 saying she was to have several things "that are none of my estate which must not be brought into my inventory." Anderson in "Great Migration" says on page 271, "We assume that the only way that Phebe could be entitled to things of her mother's that were not part of Cutler's estate is for her to be Phebe's child with someone other than James Cutler."[1] The marriage of Phebe to James Cutler produced the following children.[1]

Joanna who was born about 1661 and died Nov. 26, 1703, aged 42. She married Philip Russell at Cambridge on June 19, 1680. John was born at Cambridge on March 19, 1662/3. He married Mary Stearns at Cambridge on January 1, 1693/4. Samuel was born at Cambridge on November 8, 1664. He was named in his father's will on November 24, 1684; and died before November 20, 1700 when Thomas Cutler was appointed administrator on the estate of "his brother Samuell Cutler late of Cambridge Farms..." Jemima was born about 1672. She married Zerubbabel Snow at Woburn on September 22, 1697. Phoebe died May 16, 1684 in Lexington, Middlesex, MA. [2]Robert Charles Anderson in "The Great Migration" says she died prior to November 24, 1684 when she was not mentioned in her husband's will..[1]
