PHILIP SPOONER b. Dec. 13, 1733 d. Sept. 30, 1826. Philip Spooner inherited the homestead of his parents which yet remains in the family. A grandson of his writes "My grandfather was a man of good sense and deep thought affable and unassuming in his manners was universally respected in his town and county." He cultivated a good farm in the west part of Petersham, Mass. and also ran an excellent saw mill on the premises.
He married Dec. 26, 1756 Elizabeth Winslow daughter of Kenelm and Elizabeth (Clapp) Winslow b. May 15, 1737 d. Apr. 8, 1792.

Philip married Martha Gale and had a child. He passed away on 1824 in Heath, Franklin, Massachusetts, USA.
2) Zerviah Spooner born in Petersham, Worcester, Massachusettts on 1767.
Zerviah married Paul Gates and had 7 children. She passed away on 1841 in Franklin, Vermont, USA.
3) Betsey Spooner born in Petersham, Worcester, Massachusettts on 5 Sep 1756.
Betsey married Luther Holland and had 7 children. She passed away on 10 Apr 1831 in Petersham, Massachusetts, USA.
4) Clapp SPOONER b: 13 JUN 1760 in Petersham, Worcester, MA Married Mary CHURCH b: 17 FEB 1761 in Petersham, Worcester, MA on 1 OCT 1820 in Petersham, Worcester, MA. Children of Clapp and Mary : Lucius Spooner
Nancy Spooner, Charles Spooner, Hannah Spooner, Clapp Spooner, Samuel Spooner, George Spooner , Mary Spooner, Edwin Spooner, Elizabeth Spooner and Alden Spooner. Alden married Dolly Flagg (1793-1878) and had the following children: Henry Augustus Spooner, Solon Webster Spooner, George Alden Spooner, Jane Greene Spooner, Albert Josiah Spooner, William Andrew Spooner, Samuel Clapp Spooner, Edwin Church Spooner. Alden was first proprietor of the Vermont Journal.
5) Polly Spooner born in Petersham, Worcester, Massachusettts on 6 Mar 1776.
She passed away on 1822.
6) Lucy Spooner born in Petersham, Worcester, Massachusettts on 16 Feb 1763.
Lucy married Park Holland and had 7 children. She passed away on 7 May 1838 in Orono, Maine, USA. Buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Maine. Children: Lucy Spooner Holland Eaton (1786 - 1863), Eliza Winslow Holland (1792 - 1818),
Bathsheba Ivory Holland (1803 - 1851), Charles Thomas Holland (1806 - 1879)
7) Anna Spooner born in Petersham, Worcester, Massachusettts on 24 May 1770.
Anna married Perez Graves and had 5 children. She passed away on 17 May 1849 in Orono, Maine, USA.
8) Rhoda Spooner born in Petersham, Worcester, Massachusettts on 1778.
Rhoda married John Averill. Rhoda married Nathaniel Wales. She passed away on 1840.
