Richard Lighfoot was the son of Phillip Lightfoot III (1728-1787)

Phillip Lightfoot III (1728-1787), was the son of Philip W. Lightfoot II and Mary (Armistead) Lightfoot. He married Susannah (Smith) Lightfoot in 1748, Virginia.

They were the parents of Francis Lightfoot, Martha Jane (Lightfoot) Lott, Margaret Susanna (Lightfoot) Clark, Thomas Lightfoot, William Lightfoot and Richard Lightfoot.

He was the brother of Nathaniel Bacon Burwell (half), Lucy (Burell), half, William Lightfoot, John Lightfoot, Lewis Lightfoot, Armistead Lightfoot and Mary (Morehead) Lawrence (half).

NOTE: Old Historic home in Williamsburg, VA that belonged to him.

He left Williamsburg for Antigua for about ten years and then moved to Georgia in the mid 1760's. There is a collection of papers on him in Columbia, called the Leonardo Andres Collection that mentions Philip Lightfoot from Va.
