Phyllis Elizabeth McGilvray

Unregistered birth in cNovember 1879 when her mother was around 15 years of age. Married and had children under the name 'Elizabeth' but died as Phyllis Elizabeth McGilvrary (reg. 1944/27964). Phyllis fell from her verandah and hit her head on the clothesline. She had a cut from the back of her head to the bottom of her nose but this did not break her skull. The cut was down to the layer above bone and the autopsy states she died from brain damage sustained in the fall (presumably bleeding). Her sister who was outside in the washhouse saw her falling and heard Georgina scream as she was falling from the first floor. Her sister went straight away to get the Police who went there immediately and called the ambulance. The Police officer says that her scalp was detached from the skull on part of one side and that she was already dead. He attended immediately and does not mention the children being there.
