PALMERSTON NTH., Wednesday A woman aged 41, Violet Rose Gould, described as a domestic, of Waipukurau, pleaded guilty to two charges of bigamy when she appeared in the Magistrate's Court this morning. She was committed to the Supreme Court, Wellington, for sentence. The charges were that, before the registrar of marriages. Nelson, on April 7, 1932, Gould went through the form of marriage with John Richard Riley, [Violet used the name Yvonne Reid when she married Riley] having previously been married to another man. (name suppressed) at St. Matthew's Church, Auckland, on February 3, 1926, and that, before the registrar of marriages, Palmerston North, on February 1, 1944, she went through a form of marriage with Louis Te Haara, having previously been married to another man at Auckland on February 3, 1926.
