About Pierre "Peter" Hubert LaBay

Hubert Dessalier AKA: "Peter" LaBay is said to be of French Huguenot descent. Many of the Huguenots fled to Ireland. Perhaps his family knew the Campbells in Ireland.

He married Jane Campbell about 1845 in Megantic County, Province of Quebec, Canada.

They had 11 children: Joseph; Alex; Sarah; Robert; William; Peter; Mary Jane; Albert; Almon; Arnold; and Francis.

Hubert's name was later changed to Pierre "Peter" Labay. He died 31 Aug 1888 when they were living in South Dakota. He is buried in Pleasant View Cemetery in Arlington, Kingsbury County, South Dakota along with their son Robert LaBay (1853-1889).
