:Pierre Richard was born in Port-Royal around 1661.≤ref>Based on the average of his ages in the 1671, 1678, 1686, and 1693 censuses.≤/ref> ≤ref name="DGFA">"Dictionnaire Généalogique des Familles Acadiennes";Stephen A. White; 2 vols., Moncton, New Brunswick: Centre d'Études Acadiennes, 1999; pp. 1373 & 1376, Richard #3 :Pierre RICHARD, son of Michel (1) & Madeleine BLANCHARD.≤/ref> He wasthe second son of Michel Richard and Madeleine Blanchard.
:Pierre married Marguerite Landry around 1688.ref name="DGFA"/> Their oldest child Ren%C3%A9, was born around 1689. Pierre and Marguerite had 10 children: René, Jean, Marguerite, Angelique, Anne, Pierre, Jacques, Charles, Joseph, and Paul.
:In April 1730, over 600 Acadians took the following Oath of Allegiance to King George II. ::"I sincerely promise and swear, as a Christian, that I will be utterly faithful and will truly obey His Majesty King George the Second, whom I acknowledge as the sovereign Lord of Nova Scotia and Acadia. Sohelp me God."
:Included amongst those signing the oath were four Pierre Richards with one of those four being recorded as Pierre Richard le fils. It seems highly likely that this Pierre was one of the four. Others with the surname Richard who signed were Rene, Jermain, Jacques, Martin, Baptiste, Alex. :The exact date of Pierre's death is unknown. However, it is known that he made his mark as a witness in the marriage of his son Jacques to Anne Grangé on January 17, 1735. The record notes that he was the "père." His son Joseph married Marguerite Charlotte Leblanc on February 21, 1735 and a Pierre Richart was awitness. In this case, he was not noted to be the father of the groom, but Pierre seemed to be a witness at all of his children's weddings. In the cases of Charles (1734), Jacques (1735), and Pierre (1726), he was noted to be the groom's father; in the cases of Angelique (1714), Anne (1719), Jean (1714), Joseph (1735), and Marguerite (1711), his relationship to the groom was not noted. Biography
:Pierre Richard was born in Port-Royal around 1661.≤ref>Based on the average of his ages in the 1671, 1678, 1686, and 1693 censuses.≤/ref> ≤ref name="DGFA">"Dictionnaire Généalogique des Familles Acadiennes";Stephen A. :Pierre married Marguerite Landry around 1688.ref name="DGFA"/> Their oldest child Ren%C3%A9, was born around 1689. Pierre and Marguerite had 10 children: René, Jean, Marguerite, Angelique, Anne, Pierre, Jacques, Charles, Joseph, and Paul.
:In April 1730, over 600 Acadians took the following Oath of Allegiance to King George II. ::"I sincerely promise and swear, as a Christian, that I will be utterly faithful and will truly obey His Majesty King George the Second, whom I acknowledge as the sovereign Lord of Nova Scotia and Acadia. Sohelp me God."
:Included amongst those signing the oath were four Pierre Richards with one of those four being recorded as Pierre Richard le fils. It seems highly likely that this Pierre was one of the four. Others with the surname Richard who signed were Rene, Jermain, Jacques, Martin, Baptiste, Alex. :The exact date of Pierre's death is unknown. However, it is known that he made his mark as a witness in the marriage of his son Jacques to Anne Grangé on January 17, 1735. The record notes that he was the "père." His son Joseph married Marguerite Charlotte Leblanc on February 21, 1735 and a Pierre Richart was awitness. In this case, he was not noted to be the father of the groom, but Pierre seemed to be a witness at all of his children's weddings. In the cases of Charles (1734), Jacques (1735), and Pierre (1726), he was noted to be the groom's father; in the cases of Angelique (1714), Anne (1719), Jean (1714), Joseph (1735), and Marguerite (1711), his relationship to the groom was not noted.
