Moved to Florida in 1855.
Enlisted on March 4, 1863 at Lake City, Florida as a private in Co. E, 9th Fla. Infantry. Was present at Cold Harbor, Stoney Creek, and Petersburg. Furloughed in October, 1864 on account of typhoid fever and did not return to active service before being paroled on April 9, 1865 at Appomattox Courthouse, Virginia.
