Brief overview:

Adriaan (89), a Professor, and retired lecturer at UNISA, who lived alone, was found dead on his Sussenvale Plot 18 outside (Nylstroom) Modimolle, by a farm worker, on 20th January. He was naked, next to a wire fence. The Pietersburg Police attended the scene, who ruled his death as natural causes.

Community Policing Forum Francois Malan said they would be investigating further as Professor Smit's wallet was missing, as well as the keys to his vehicle.

SAPS spokesman warrant-officer James Findlay said, until a post-mortem enquiry has been held we cannot be certain exactly what the death-cause was.
