About Pvt. Aaron Denton, CSA

Aaron Denton served in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War in Company A "Gibson Guards," 48th Regiment, Georgia Infantry. He enlisted on March 4, 1862 at Gibson, Georgia. On June 2, 1862 he was admitted to Chimborazo Hospital No. 5 at Richmond, Virginia for debility and returned to duty four days later on June 6. Beginning in the winter of 1862, he was detailed as a teamster for Wright's Brigade. He was absent due sickness from his regiment in August 1863, but soon rejoined. He served with his regiment until their surrender at Appomattox Court House on April 9, 1865.
