Benoni C Powers Powers Family Cemetery
This cemetery is in the extreme southern portion of Lewis Co., WV. From Weston take U.S. 19 south, through Walkersville, to the "Y" where State Rt 4 joins 19. Turn right and proceed to the village of Ireland, where you will turn left onto County Rd. 50. You will pass through Duffy, Bablin and Wildcat. At Wildcat turn left onto County Rt. 50/6. This is an unimproved roadknown as the Hacker Camp Run Road. A 4 wheel drive might be needed to drive the additional 2 miles to reach the cemetery which is on the left along this road.
I visited this cemetery in 1989 or 90 in a car with a little difficulty. Somewhere along this road was also an old building that was once a schoolhouse where my grandmother and probably other Powers' attended school.
