Pvt. Franciscus "Frank" Shockey, Civil War veteran (USA)

Married Dec. 27, 1868 to Susan Virginia Newlon daughter of Burr P. and Sally A. Newlon. Franciscus was the son of Jacob Shockey and Nancy Wilmoth Shockey.

Franciscus was a Union Soldier for a short time during the Civil War. He was enrolled at Grafton, West Virginia, on 7 April 1965 and was described as being six feet tall, dark complexion, hazel eyes, and dark hair. Official records say he "enlisted as a substitute."
