Son of James Parke Corbin and Jane Catherine (Wellford) Corbin
Married Roberta "Bertie" Elizabeth Cary in September 1856. She had been living on the plantation called Belle Hill, which was owned by her cousin's husband, James Dickenson.
He was the father of one daughter, Janie, who died during the war at Moss Neck Plantation.
Enlisted on 6 May 1861 in Company B of the 9th Regiment Virginia Cavalry, as a private. This was organized in June 1862 and saw action in the majority of the battles on the Virginia peninsula, also into Maryland and at Gettysburg.
Was killed near Culpepper Court House, Virginia.
