Civil War Veteran - Stokley D Massengale fought in the Confederate Army during the Civil War and was a Private in Company "B" 12th Alabama Infantry Regiment.
He enlisted November 01, 1863 in Montgomery, Alabama. He was captured on April 05, 1865 at Petersburg, Virginia and was held as a prisoner of war at Point Lookout Prisoner of War Camp in Maryland.
He was Paroled June 15, 1865 and returned back home to his family in Coosa County, Alabama.
