Information from "The History of Schley County, Georgia", compiled and sponsored by the Schley Co. Preservation Society, c. 1982 W H Wolfe & Associates, pages 180- 181, quotes the lineage of Wiley Carter as it first appeared in "Georgia Life Magazine" (By Kenneth H. Thomas, Jr) Winter, 1976. In this reprint of the lineage of Wiley Carter, this gentleman is listed as Wiley Carter Jr (1841-1904) who served in Capt. Cutts Co of Sumter Flying Artillery unit of the CSA with his brothers, Littleberry, and Jesse T. (They enlisted in Americus, GA in 1862) The article says that Wiley Jr. married Rachael D. McGarrah in 1864, lived in Richland and they are buried at Harmony Cemetery, Richland.
