Note by Teomim descendant, Robert Hanscom -- 8 January 2020:

R Samuel Teomin, aka Rabbi Samuel Joseph Teomim, A.B.D. Lobsens, b. in Lissa, c1729, was the "third son" of R' Joseph Teomim and wife Channa. He died at Lobsens, Poland in 1794. Referenced in Lissa Jewish records in 1759 as a Rabbinate Assessor. At that point, he was in seventh place to serve as Chief Rabbi of Lissa [source: “The History of the Jews in Lissa”]. Subsequently he was A.B.D. at Lobsens.

In "Die Familie Teomim" [by Leopold Lowenstein], there are these passages about him: (p. 355) "Samuel Teomim, son of Joseph, rabbi in Lobsens..." That follows this erroneous entry (p. 353): “[Joseph's] son Samuel Teomim, d. c 1720 as a scholar living in Prague (cf. Walden I. c. p. 126 No. 92), was the father of Josef Teomim, whose son's name was Meir Teomim."

But a footnote on page 362 corrects the passage on page 353: "The Lobsens rabbi Samuel Theomim was the third son of R' Chiskel Josua Theomim's son, Joseph Theomim, and belongs there.” However, the wrong Joseph is identified — Samuel’s father was R’ Joseph of Lissa, son of R’ Abraham Jonah Teomim (nephew of R’ Chiskel Josua).

Samuel is also erroneously identified as the father of R' Aryeh Leib Jehuda Teomim-Zwillinger [aka R' Juda Lissa, aka Lobl Zwillinger]. This was apparently because both men were living in Lissa at around the same time. But, as proven by the inscription on his gravestone, R' Aryeb Leib Jehuda Teomim-Zwillinger (c1755-1794), was Samuel's nephew. His father was Samuel's older brother, R' Meir [Markus] Teomim-Zwillinger-Pollak (1732-1794) of Lissa, later of Holesov.

Samuel was the father of two sons: R' Chaim [Joachim] Joseph Teomim-Zwillinger and R' Salomon [Jehoshua] Nathan Teomim-Zwillinger.
