About Rabbi Allan Eliyahu Levine
Rabbi Eliyahu Allan Levine z”l was born in Montreal, Canada in 1932 and made Aliyah in 1971. In the 1960’s he served as one of the leading Jewish figures in the struggle for racial equality and the civil rights movement in the United States. In Israel, Levin served as one of the heads of the Israeli office of the URJ and was of the leading figures in efforts to establish Kibbutz Yahel in the Arava. Rabbi Levin lost his middle son, Rami z”l, who fell in combat. Rabbi Levin passed away in Rehovot, where he was buried this week. http://www.reform.org.il/Eng/About/Faq.asp?ContentID=3050
