About Rachel Hanse Thickstone
Rachel is the daughter of Hans Carelse Toll and Neeltje Cornelise Segerse Egmont.
She was married first to David Willems. They had two children. He died before April 1697, when Rachel was identified as the widow of David Willems at her second marriage.
Rachel secondly married Jeremy Thickstone. He was an English soldier (identified as such in military records) who settled at Schenectady, New York, in the early years of the settlement. The first record of him as a Schenectady settler is from 1697, when he married Rachel. Their marriage was one of several between young women of Schenectady and English soldiers stationed there.
