John 1 Brundish, chr. June 5 1593 at Rattlesden Parish in Co., Suffolk, England, came from Felsham Parish to Mass ca. 1632, a tanner, made a freeman at Watertown 1635, d. between May 20 & Oct 27 1639 in Wethersfield, Ct.

John was a son of Thomas Brundish and Agnes Tompson who were married in 1584 at Rattlesden.

John m. 1621 at Belstad Parish to Rachel Hubbard b. abt 1600 Mendlesham, Co., Suffolk, d. 1656 to 59, daughter of James and Naomi (Cook/Cooke) Hubbard.

Rachel m. second 1642 to Anthony Wilson, had a dau. Sarah Wilson. Wilson m second 1659 to Sarah (Jones) Buckley; he d. 1662.

At Wethersfield John and Rachel lived on what is now Sandy Lane. He died , probably by suicide, without a will; his estate was valued at 174pounds. in chattels and 130 pounds in house and land. The chattels included books as well as tools. Rachel was granted the chattels and the real estate was to be for the children's portion when they reached sixteen. The land was sold before may 1641, presumably when Rachel left Wethersfield for Fairfield.
