Ray Stephen Troyer

Son of George Douglas Troyer and Ara Belle Harbaugh, husband of Jennie May Teets, whom he married on September 4, 1912 in Big Creek, Michigan, and from whom he was later divorced on April 14, 1920 in Oscoda, Michigan, and father of William Douglas, Helen Irene, and Donald B. Troyer. Jennie later remarried to Arthur Buchanan.

Husband of Vera May Annis Brown, whom he married on March 30, 1924 in Colorado, and father of Lila, Ray Stephen Jr., Clara Belle, George Douglas, Robin Elmer, Norman Clifford, Clare May, Bruce, Gloria, R. Bruce and Doris Elaine Troyer (married Richard Albert Benincase).

In 1900, Ray F. Troyer, aged 7, was living in Newburgh, Cuyahoga, Ohio, in the home of his parents, George D. Troyer, aged 37, and Arra B. Troyer, aged 30, with siblings, Vernie A. Troyer, aged 10, Myrtle M. Troyer, aged 8, and Marea Troyer, aged 4. His father was shown to be a laborer in a brick yard.

In 1920, Ray S. Troyer, aged 26, was living in Detroit, Michigan, lodging in the home of Della Morrison, aged 40, widowed, who kept a rooming house, with nine other lodgers. Born in Ohio, Ray was employed as a salesman for a lumber company.

In 1940, Ray Troyer, aged 47, born in Ohio, was living on Vernon Street, North Patchogue, NY, with his wife, Vera Troyer, aged 35, born in Michigan; and children, Lila Troyer, aged 16, born in Minnesota; Ray Troyer, aged 15, born in Colorado; George Troyer, aged 12, born in Illinois; Robin Troyer, aged 10, born in New York; Norman Troyer, aged 9, born in New York; Clare May Troyer, aged 8, born in New York; Bruce Troyer, aged 6, born in New York; and Doris Troyer, aged 2, born in New York. Ray, the elder, was shown to be a portrait photographer.
