Raymond A Boe

TAYLOR — Raymond A. Boe passed away at home on March 23, 2011, at the age of 91, under the care of Black River Memorial Hospice.

He was born on Jan. 1, 1920, to Ole and Gena (Estenson) Boe. He married Mabel Zirzow on Nov. 11, 1950. They lived their entire married life in the Taylor area. Raymond was a lifelong farmer. He also served as a township supervisor, a village trustee, on church council, and on the cemetery board. Ray and Mabel were honored as Taylor Old Fashioned Days King and Queen in 1987. They also hosted the second annual Jackson County Dairy Breakfast in 1984. He particularly enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Raymond is survived by three sons, Darwin (Martha) of North Wales, Pa., Gary (Peggy) and Daryl (Kathy) of Taylor; and a daughter, Sharon (Russ) Quinnell of Hayfield, Minn. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Aaron, Ben, Steven, Chris, Cera, and David Boe; and four great-grandchildren, Dusty Waldera, and Alivia, Jaxon and Evan Boe.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel on Feb. 18, 2008; and by twin infant daughters; brothers, Orville, Floren, Ernest and Clifford; and sisters, Irene Schwartz and Beatrice Kullick.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, March 26, at Trempealeau Valley Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ben Ahles-Iverson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, and also one hour before services at the church.

Pallbearers will be Aaron, Ben, Steven, Chris, Cera, and David Boe. Honorary bearers will be Dusty Waldera, Alivia, Jaxon and Evan Boe.
