My Navy experience was 7 years of Zero-G flyng with the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute in Pensacole, Florida in the glory days of NASA. Our Physiological Optics Branch did Vestibular Physiology on test subjects. Motion sickness studies were completed on the astronauts, Thousand aviators ffrom WWI and WWII, drop-outs from the Navy Flight program and paid student volunteers. Our funds were all from NASA and no RTDandE.
Our results gave us a battery of tests to prequalify fliight candidates before spending $250,000.00 each when they were proven susceptible to motion sickness and became drop-outs from the flight program. Just a little History... We flew on slightly modified Air Force KC-135's (Essentially Boeing 707's) Could get about 30 seconds of weightless time for every parabola we flew.. My first day we flew 37 minutes of weightless time.
