Inscription according to FindaGrave "Wife of Dr. Benjamin Barefoot, Mother of James Barefoot Pioneer settler of Bedford Co. Granddaughter of George Ross, signer of the Declaration of Independence."

Despite the multiple approved SAR applications that list her mother as Mary Sobine not Ruth, her death certificate lists her mother as Ruth.
