Hannah Rebecca Crouch Cooper

Born in Tishomingo County, Mississippi, to my ggg-grandparents Hillary Curtis Sr. and wife Susannah Gulley.

She was married in a double ring ceremony to David Crouch on July 8, 1856 in Pope County, Arkansas. The other couple was Dicey Crouch, sister of David Crouch, who married James Thomas Curtis, brother of Hannah Rebecca Curtis.

Application was filed in Pope County, Arkansas, on October 7, 1889 by widow Hannah R. Cooper for the Civil War Pension of David Crouch. (Widow of David Crouch, Application #405738, Co B, 2nd Ark Cav)

David Crouch last appeared on the 1870 federal census taken August 9, 1870.

She married second to William A. Cooper; have been unable to locate a marriage record for them. Lucinda Elizabeth Cooper was born on October 12, 1871; have not yet determined if this child was of their marriage or if William A. Cooper was married previously and the daughter was the product of his first marriage. Lucinda Elizabeth Cooper married Carroll Arthur on Aug. 4, 1889 in Pope County, Arkansas. On the 1900 U.S. census, Hannah Cooper is residing in Dwelling #197 in the household of her son John Hillary Crouch. In Dwelling #201 resides Carroll Arthur, wife Lucinda E and their daughters Mary and Cora Rebecca.
