Rebecca Williford Lane, 59, of 161 Lane Road, wife of Harold Dean Lane Sr., died at her home Tuesday, March 18, 2003. Mrs. Lane was born in Union on May 14, 1943, a daughter of George and Essie Moore Williford of Union. He was a member of Welcome Baptist Church. Mrs. Lane was a graduate of Union High School and received her associate degree from the University of South Carolina-Union. She was a former employee of Conso.

Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are a daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Phillip Franklin of Union; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold Dean Lane Jr. and Lisa Tucker Lane of Union; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lib Williford and Jane W. and Charlie Wilson Jr., all of Union and five grandchildren, Lee, Kacie and Courtney Franklin, Mitch and Shannon Lane.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at Welcome Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Robert Jarvis, the Rev. Ralph Brown and Dr. Ed McAbee. Burial will be in the Hawkins Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Cecil Brown Jr., Paul Dean Williford, S.W. Williford, Charlie Wilson, III, Eddie Paul Lane and Scottie Lane.

Visitation will be tonight from 7 until 9 at the Holcombe Funeral Home. The body will be placed in church at 2 p.m. Thursday to await the hour of service. The families are at her daughter's home at 152 Lane Road and at her parentÕ home, 137 Phillips Road.
