Son of William Batchelor Denmark and Anna Moye

Father of Elizabeth Denmark 1803–1856, Sarah Denmark 1805–1862, Thomas Irving Denmark 1809–1897,
John Denmark 1811–1895,

Sons Redden and Malachi went to court in 1802 to have their legal family name changed from Moye to Denmark. Mother Anna died in 1806, and sons Redden and Malachi (who was about 16 yrs old at this time) went to court again and had Redden made Malachi's legal guardian. This was about 15 yrs before "Father" William died. At least one source refers to William as their step-father, and I've not seen anything stating the boys were actually legally adopted by William.

Unless someone knows any different, I'm leaving Redden and Malachi as William's sons, since he evidently was ok with them taking his name legally.
