- Deed O-1-543 (dated 12 Feb 1757), Lancaster; Samuel Groff of Earl Twp. and wife Christina sold 158 acres to Abraham Riffe, Jr. who married Barbara, one of the daughters of Samuel and Christina Groff (bounded by Joseph Horst, Mark Groff, Hand Rudolph Negley, Christian Wenger). This farm was part of a 219-acre tract granted 26 July 1738 (Deed B-217) by Hans Groff and wife Susanna to Samuel Groff: Warrant no. 426 (6 Jan 1775, 41 acres in Earl Twp.); Survey C-136-248; Patent AA-15-56 (12 Jan 1775 to Abraham Reiff)---all Harrisburg.
