About Rev. David Henry Urquhart

Appears to have been known as "Henry" to his family and schoolmates. Matriculated at Magdalen College, Oxford on 12 July, 1771, aged 16. Received his B.A. in 1775 and his M.A. in 1778. Translator of Greek and Latin who provided one of three 18th C. Greek-to-English translations of the Anacreontea. Published Commentaries on Classical Learning in London, 1803. Served as vicar of Threckingham, Lincolnshire starting in 1803. Was rector and clerk of Broadmayne, Dorset until his death on 22 May 1829. Will probated 3 July 1829.
