- Came to America in 1750, from Rotterdam, with his father Jacob Showalter.
- They landed in Philidelphia, and went to Northampton County, Pa. John sold his land, 1 Apri l 1771, to Christopher Kern, and moved to Williamstown Twp. Chester County, Pa. The Will st ates the location as, Willstown. It is just east of West Chester, Pa. There is a Williamstow n, but it is in Paradise Twp. Lancaster Co. Pa.
- John's son, John, lived about 13 miles west of Philadelphia. That location would best fi t the location of Willstown.
- In 1779 he was reported as having 194 acres, and in 1781, 109 acres.
