Allen Blanton https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Blanton-337:

Richard was born about 1720. Richard Blanton ... He passed away about 1819. [1]

Richard Jr was made sheriff of Spotsylvania, VA in 1767-8. His first duty was to arrest Joseph Craig, Baptist minister for not preaching Church of England. He released him soon afterwards for "causing more mischief" in jail than out of it. Crowds would gather around the jail to listen to Joseph preach. His brother John was drafted for service in the revolution, but as he was just married and rearing a family, Richard offered to substitute and was accepted.
